Time Flies

I can't believe I haven't written on my blog for almost a year. Time flies by so fast. This time last year I was eagerly anticipating our trip to Maui - what a wonderful time we had-many wonderful memories. If the Lord is willing we will return again.

In the time that has past I traveled to Austin in the summer and Santa Barbara in September with Sammy, Mandy and Linkoln. I love to travel and it is so special to travel with those you love. I missed Mike alot.

All of the grandchildren have grown so much. Katelynn is now 15, unbelieveable. She is an awesome tennis player. Emile, Jordan and Marc have each grown a foot I believe. Gracie and Linkoln have changed so much in this year. It is a joy to watch them all grow but sad because time is passing so quickly. We are looking forward to little Jakob in May. Michelle is ready NOW.

This year brought many changes to our lives - Heath and Melissa are together and are getting married in a couple of weeks. The girls love having their daddy back at home. Heath is a manager at Posados and with Melissa managing at Dove Creek I wonder how this will work with two managers in the same house. But the love is strong so I believe all will be well.

Both Melissa and Heath and Michelle and Schon have moved to new homes recently and I know that is exciting for them.

Mandy and Sammy are having a ball raising their little Linkoln. Sammy is going well in his business and Mandy is an awesome mother and teacher for Link.

My biggest change outside the family is saying goodbye to Kay as she retired and welcoming a new principal, Doreen Krebs. My job is so different now but I love it. She has brought sunshine into the office. Each day is a new adventure and I am happy to go to work each day. I plan on retiring in two years but who knows- I may last longer :)

We're home and back in our routine

I was so busy and had so much fun in Maui I didn't have a chance to open my computer again. We had a wonderful time in Maui with Mandy, Sammy and Linkoln.

Some of my most favorite things were the time Mike and I spent on the north end of the island, taking care of Linkoln especially the night time routine of bath, reading Goodnight Moon, prayers and him finally falling asleep in my arms. I know that Mandy missed putting Link to bed tremondously but I am glad I got the opportunity. I loved cooking dinners with Mike and eating on the terrace with him in the moonlight. I loved spending time with Mandy and Sammy at the condo - it was amazing.

I loved the ocean-the beautiful shades of blue, swimming in it, and the beach. Can't wait to experience it again.

Only downfall was missing my family back here in Texas :(

Thank you Mandy and Sammy for giving us this chance of a lifetime. I love you.

Aloha - it is Tuesday here

Today we went to the beach, did a little shopping and went to a show about the history of Hawaii. The dancers are so graceful. Maybe I will take up hula dancing! That was a joke - but seriously they do have lessons at Watauga Rec Center ;)

For some reason I can't upload pictures so check your email Melissa and Michelle - I am sending some pics.

Miss you all - give my grandchildren lots of hugs and kisses from us.

Ocean Aquarium and Mama's Fish House

Hi girls, we went to the aquarium today and took some really good pictures. Hey Emilie, here is a picture I took of a live starfish. I even got to feel it. Jordan, isnt this a funny fish? He had a long nose and his mouth looks like a human mouth.

We went to Mama's Fish House for lunch with Mandy, Sammy and Linkoln. The food was wonderful. Katelynn maybe you would like to be a chef in Maui - I would visit often :)

Sammy let Linkoln put his toes in the sand. I think he liked it! Marc you need to come and learn to surf. We saw lots of kids your size on surf boards.

Poppy and I went swimming in the ocean this afternoon. The water was so clear I could see my shadow on the floor of the ocean. It tasted very salty! I can't wait to swim again.

Well Poppy is snoring away and I am tired too so I am going to bed. I love you all and miss you. I will write again tomorrow to let you know what we did. Love you xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Luau at the Royal Lahaina Resort

We had alot of fun at the luau. We were at a table right in front of the stage. We met some really nice people from Arizona, Oregon and Australia. I loved their accent and they were so funny. The food was wonderful-I even tried poi to say I had - yuck! Here are pictures of the hula dancers. They were so good!!!! What do you think about that last picture? They were some of the dancers.

We are looking forward to a wonderful trip but will surely miss Melissa, Michelle and their families.
